‘The Champion’ Martin Wanless predicts…
Score prediction: Norwich City 0 Sunderland 2
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Eliezer Mayenda
With a hard fought win over West Brom under our belts, I’m hoping we can make it three wins from three at Carrow Road tonight.
The lads weren’t great in possession on Saturday, but were brilliant out of it, and hopefully we can excel at both tonight.
Norwich will be tough – I really like Josh Sargent and he’ll cause us problems, but if we can keep him and Sainz quiet I think we can get all three points.

Malc Dugdale predicts…
Score prediction: Norwich City 0 Sunderland 1
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Wilson Isidor
In the games since Coventry away we have perfected the art of grinding out narrow wins despite at times not really being as convincing as we should be, and I think we will see more of the same this evening.
With squad rotation and injuries to deal with I’d quite like to see Browne start in the middle of the park to give us a bit of mettle and bite. That would mean we would have to start with Hume and Hjelde as full backs, but Leo has done OK and probably deserves this on merit if it didnt come about any other way,
I was very tempted to pick Trai for our FGS given his goals in the last two, but after a dry spell which should surely improve with the return of Le Fee, I am backing big Willy to get us going, and for us to hold on to the lead by doing a good job around our end on fall-guy Sainz and the talented Sargent.

Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 2
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Eliezer Mayenda
Another game, another win and another injury. We can’t seem to escape the woes of injury this season, and Romaine Mundle once again finds himself sidelined just as it seemed he was getting back up to speed.
Fortunately, we have found a way to keep winning and with others faltering, a dim chance of automatic promotion still lingers, though it seems fairly insurmountable.
Saturday’s win also saw the return of Enzo Le Fée, who was naturally off the pace, but I hope his natural ability will still have something to offer in the final run-in.
I’m hoping Eliezer Mayenda will be restored to the starting eleven after perhaps being unlucky to have been taken out in the first place, and I think his pace and directness will be a real asset.
Norwich is a hard place to go, but I feel we will edge past the,m and think Mayenda starting will give us that edge.

Will Jones predicts…
Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 2
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Wilson Isidor
It’s tight, it’s tense, and there’s still plenty to play for. We’ve hit form at just the right time, and Tuesday night’s trip to Carrow Road is another chance to keep the momentum rolling as we head into the sharp end of the run-in.
Saturday’s win at West Brom wasn’t one for the purists, but it was one for the believers. Disciplined, well-drilled, and clinical when it mattered. We defended like a side that knows what’s at stake, and with every clean sheet, this team grows in confidence.
Norwich are limping to a midtable finish. One win in six and their playoff hopes are fading fast. However, they’re still a real threat at home – averaging over two goals a game at Carrow Road – and with Sainz and Sargent, they’ve got the players to punish any lapse in focus.
Le Bris will know the squad needs managing. We’ve got six games left and the margins are fine, so we’ll likely see a bit of rotation again. But what’s been encouraging is that the changes haven’t dented the rhythm – whether it’s Mayenda stepping in, or Le Fée offering control in midfield, the pieces are fitting together nicely.

Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 1
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Eliezer Mayenda
Another win and a clean sheet to boot for the lads, with momentum slowly but surely building up. Up next is a Norwich side whose play-off hopes have taken a nose dive over the last few weeks.
One win in six games, and it’s looking increasingly likely they will miss out on a play-off place. They’re a far better side on home soil and averaging over two goals a game at Carrow Road. The result tonight has little impact on the overall picture, but I’d like to at least see us avoid defeat and maintain our unbeaten run.

Bomber Davies predicts…
Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 1
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Eliezer Mayenda
With Norwich’s season effectively done after losing to the league’s basement club, and with us all but guaranteed 4th place, it has the potential to be a real dead-rubber.
Le Bris will likely use it as an opportunity to get further match minutes into Browne, and maybe rest a couple of those suffering niggles in order to be primed for a playoff push.
Despite that, Norwich are the second highest scorers in the league, and Sainz will have an eye on sealing the golden boot, so it will be hard to keep out.
I toyed with a three-peat 1-0 win, but for the reason mentioned above, it’s a score draw for me.

Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 1
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Wilson Isidor
Another gritty win means we’ve bounced back well following the drubbing at Coventry, securing maximum points. And another clean sheet at the Hawthorns to go with a performance and result befitting of a playoff tie. I’m still hopeful we can find an extra gear or two, but it was a big positive nullifying playoff-chasing West Brom.
Norwich have had a very poor couple of months, with just 3 wins in 11, that has put a gap between them and the playoffs. They aren’t out of the race, but they have an 8-point deficit to make up and are out of form.
Momentum is key for us heading into the playoffs but the last 6 games are still very bunched up, so it’s important that we use the squad and keep things fresh. Seeing Mundle go down again at this critical stage of the season is exactly what we don’t want. I don’t expect RLB to ring six changes, but hopefully we’ll see some rotation and a confidence-boosting goal for Isidor.

Brett Lyons-Davis predicts…
Score prediction: Norwich City 1 Sunderland 2
Sunderland’s first goalscorer: Wilson Isidor
Norwich losing to Plymouth on Saturday will have all but ended the Canaries slim chance of making the playoffs in their supporters’ eyes. On the flip side, the Lads grounding out a great away win at West Brom has got our fans thinking there might still be a chance for the automatics if results can go our way elsewhere.
Either way though, promotion is insignificant in this match with the friendship trophy at stake. The lads are carrying a slim 2-1 lead following the win at the Stadium of Light in December. Can we keep hold of the silverware that is so fiercely fought over?
The answer will be yes with big Wilson getting himself among the goals and the lads running out 2-1 winners.

Last time out…
The lads ground out a hard-fought 0-1 away win at West Brom over the weekend, a game in which many areas they were second best for significant parts of the match.
We were the best at the most important stat, goals scored, and we came away with all three points thanks to a solid defensive showing, and a well-hit curling shot by Hume, which their keeper should have done better with, to be honest, about ten minutes before half time. This was much to the disappointment of our ex-coach Uncle Tony, who it was great to see back at it in the Championship.

Tonight we look to build again with an away trip to Carrow Rd. The Canaries lost to Argyle at the weekend after Plymouth scored two in the first 30 minutes. Norwich will maybe see this as their last chance to kick on and hope for a shot at 6th, with the gap at 8 points before kick off tonight.
Hopefully Norwich go for it and we absorb the first 15 and then resume our ability to convert pressure into breaking on the counter. It was at times like these that Isidor was at his best.
Last game predictions
Several writers went for the away draw against the Baggies, and to be honest that would have been an OK result for us too; some would say more akin to what we deserved based on the performance and stats.
Thankfully Trai Hume banged in a nice one for the second game in a row to give us the win, a victory that three of the Predictions collective forecasted, and which grit and determination from the lads at the back forced over the finish line.

Latest standings
Malc has increased his lead to 5 points at the top, and Will is joined in second by Jack.
A six-point gap has opened up between 3rd and 4th, but there is very little from 4th to bottom with six games to go before this evening’s offering.

How the points are awarded
Just a quick reminder of how we allocate points to our match-by-match predictions:
- Correct score = Three points
- Correct outcome (but not correct score) = One point
- Correct first Sunderland goalscorer = One point (no goalscorer is a valid call)
- Possible deductions for being lazy and not submitting on time = a two point deduction.
