KOMPAS.com – iPhone 16e bisa dibilang merupakan “kembaran” iPhone 14. Sebab dari depan, tampilan perangkat ini sama persis.dengan ponsel keluaran 2022 tersebut.

Sama seperti iPhone 14, iPhone 16e mengusung layar OLED 6,1 inci yang memiliki resolusi 1.170 x 2.532 piksel. Layar ini memiliki tingkat kecerahan mencapai 1.200 nit dan sudah dilapisi pelindung Ceramic Shield Glass. 

Pada bagian tengah atas layar dengan bezel yang cukup tebal ini, terdapat “dahi” alias notch yang cukup lebar. Di dalamnya, ada beberapa sensor untuk Face ID dan kamera TrueDepth 12 MP.

Meski tampak depan sama, bagian belakang ponsel ini memiliki desain berbeda. Pasalnya, iPhone 16e hanya memiliki satu kamera belakang (48 MP), tidak dua seperti iPhone 14 (12 MP + 12 MP).

Karena hanya punya satu kamera, desain punggung cenderung mirip iPhone XR. iPhone 14 sendiri memiliki desain kamera zig-zag yang kerap disebut sebagai kamera “boba”.

Perbedaan selanjutnya terletak di bagian bingkai kiri perangkat. Kini, tombol Mute Switch berupa slider digantikan dengan tombol fisik yang bisa dipencet, yaitu bernama Action Button. 

Fungsi tombol ini bisa diatur sesuai preferensi pengguna. Tombol ini bisa diatur untuk mode senyap (silent), tombol kamera, tombol senter, tombol aksesibilitas, serta bisa menjalankan aplikasi Apple macam Voice Memo hingga Translate. 

Pada sisi yang sama, terdapat juga tombol volume, sedangkan di sisi kanan perangkat hanya ada tombol power, sama seperti perangkat iPhone pada umumnya.

Beralih ke bingkai bagian bawah iPhone 16e, di sini juga ada perbedaan signifikan dengan iPhone 14. Konektor untuk mengisi daya berupa Lightning Port kini digantikan dengan konektor yang lebih modern dan universal, yaitu USB-C.

Artinya, iPhone 16e bisa dipasangkan dengan banyak aksesori smartphone yang memiliki kabel USB-C. Konektor USB-C sendiri diperkenalkan Apple pertama kali lewat iPhone 15 Series pada 2023 lalu. Sebelum ini, Apple selalu menggunakan Lightning Port.

Selain perbedaan di atas, bahasa desain iPhone 16e bisa dibilang sama persis seperti iPhone 14. Kedua perangkat ini mengadopsi jenis bingkai rata (flat) dengan material aluminum yang terkesan kokoh dan premium.

Dimensi iPhone 16e juga serupa iPhone 14, yaitu dengan panjang, lebar, dan ketebalan 146,7, 71,5, dan 7,8 mm. Namun, ponsel yang masuk ke keluarga iPhone 16 Series tersebut sedikit lebih ringan dengan bobot 167 gram berbanding 172 gram. 

Di luar desain, iPhone 16e juga memiliki beberapa fitur unggulan baru, seperti kehadiran chip A18 yang ada di iPhone 16 Series, dukungan fitur kecerdasan buatan (AI) Apple Intelligence, serta chip modem 5G terbaru bikinan Apple bernama C1.
