KOMPAS.com – Apple resmi merilis iPhone 16e, iPhone versi “murah” yang selama ini dikenal dengan iPhone SE.

iPhone 16e adalah iPhone “murah” generasi keempat Apple. Terakhir, Apple merilis iPhone SE pada tahun 2022.

iPhone 16e diluncurkan dalam sebuah video berdurasi sekitar 12 menit yang tayang di kanal YouTube Apple, Rabu (19/2/2025) malam, waktu Indonesia.

Dalam video tersebut, CEO Apple, Tim Cook, mengatakan bahwa iPhone 16e merupakan keluarga iPhone 16 series.

“iPhone 16e bergabung dengan keluarga iPhone 16, sebagai anggota berbanderol paling murah,” jelas Cook.

Meskipun termasuk lini iPhone 16, sejatinya, iPhone 16e masih membawa “DNA” iPhone 14 yang rilis tahun 2022 lalu.

Artinya, ponsel ini masih dibekali “notch” alias bilah tebal memanjang serupa dahi, di sisi atas layar ponsel. Bilah tersebut menampung kamera depan untuk menunjang fitur Face ID dan selfie.

Meskipun membawa desain lama, iPhone 16e juga dibekali beberapa spesifikasi dan fitur anyar, baik yang baru pertama kali hadir maupun sudah tersemat di lini iPhone 16 series sebelumnya.

Salah satunya adalah System-on-Chip (SoC) A18 yang “mengotakki” ponsel ini. Ini adalah chip yang sama seperti iPhone 16 dan iPhone 16 Plus.

iPhone 16e juga menjadi iPhone pertama dengan modem 5G internal yang dirancang sendiri oleh Apple, yakni chip C1.

Apple iPhone 16e dibekali modem 5G in-house yang dirancang sendiri oleh Apple. Ini menjadi iPhone peratama yang dibekali chip modem 5G buatan Apple.

Apple mengklaim C1 sebagai modem paling hemat daya yang pernah ada di iPhone, untuk menghadirkan konektivitas 5G. Selama ini, Apple bekerja sama dengan Qualcomm untuk merancang chip dengan modem 5G.

“Ini dia iPhone 16e. Dengan Apple Silicon generasi terbaru kami (A18), terobosan siklus hidup baterai, dan sistem 2 in 1 kamera beresolusi tinggi, serta fitur-fitur luar biasa dari iOS 18, semuanya terpadu di desain yang cantik dan tangguh,” jelas Tim Cook meringkas keunggulan iPhone 16e.

Apple iPhone 16e membawa desain iPhone 14, namun memiliki beberapa fitur dan spesifikasi baru.iPhone 16e dibekali layar OLED 6,1 inci. Bilah atasnya menampung kamera TrueDepth 12 MP untuk menunjang Face ID serta selfie yang sudah dilengkapi dengan autofocus.
